WELCOME TO MS. HERB'S CLASS!
Welcome to my class! I am so excited about having you as a student this year. I know we are going to have a great time learning together. I have created this wiki to allow us to communicate on-line, both in and out of the classroom, and my goal is that it becomes a place for us to share what we are learning throughout the year with one another. This wiki will be a wonderful resource to find your assignments, dates of upcoming events, your classmates' birthdays, a list of links and resources used in our studies, and finally a way to collaborate with others in order to share work and thoughts with everyone.

OUR TIME TOGETHER THIS YEAR
Teaching and inspiring students are two of my passions, and it is my hope that during our time together this year that all we do in the classroom will inspire you! It is my desire to provide my students with a strong foundation for future learning. With that in mind, in my classroom all students are encouraged to explore the wonders of the world around them, to ask questions, and to work to their fullest potential. Whether we are doing an art project or completing an academic assignment, please know that I am here to help you realize the joy of learning in a nurturing and safe atmosphere. I hope to instill a love of learning in all my students that will serve everyone today, tomorrow, and into the future!

MEET YOUR TEACHER, MS. HERB
When I was a student in school, I always found it interesting to learn some fun facts about the teachers I had, so let me tell you a little bit about myself. I am a native Floridian and was born and raised in Tampa, Florida. I am the youngest of three children, and I have two older brothers named Gregory and Andrew. My mother, grandfather, and aunt are all teachers, and my oldest brother just became a teacher through the Teach for America program. At a young age, I developed a love of dance, and that has been with me ever since. While I was in elementary, middle, and high school, I could regularly be seen dancing at my dance studio or competing in dance competitions. I also taught various dance classes and choreographed many routines for recitals and competitions. I continued my dancing career even when I went to college. When it came time for me to decide where I wanted to attend college, I chose the University of Central Florida in Orlando, and it is one of the best choices I have ever made. Since I have always enjoyed working with children and taking dance classes, it was quite an easy decision for me to choose to major in elementary education with a minor in dance. Teaching allows me to share my passions of children and education with others. Because of my love of dance, don't be surprised if we celebrate a great day together with a little bit of movement and dancing! While attending U.C.F., I was also a member of the sorority, Zeta Tau Alpha, and I have many fond memories of spending time with my sorority family. In my spare time, I currently enjoy taking dance classes, going to the beach, and traveling.
We are going to have a great year together!
